I Did Not Know

Journey for love . . .
This road I've crossed has truly been
A journey back again, again,
To a time, so long ago,
Where I found you, but did not know.
'Twas there I sought a lovely man,
To see a place I've never been.
But what I saw was hidden so,
It showed me yes, but it meant no.
I did embrace what was set forth,
And I believed that more was more.
But hidden in the words you spoke,
Your brutal truth, and me you broke.
While blindly with you hand in hand,
I traversed 'cross this savage land.
And I was well within your hold,
Too lost in love to really know.
Whilst in my ignorance of bliss
You said that, but I felt this.
Then from within me rose to show
My heart, my mind, did truly know.
Oh love, oh love, I sought your end.
I searched, I reached, I found within
The truth which time does not forego,
The lies of love I did not know.

Very good hub. I enjoyed it.
Awesome and beautiful! Voted up! Not all love is true.
"Whilst in my ignorance of bliss
You said that, but I felt this."
There is a lot of that going on, sister!
"I did embrace what was set forth,
And I believed that more was more.
But hidden in the words you spoke,
Your brutal truth, and me you broke."
Love can give us some serious mixed messages. We never really know the truth of how we feel or how the other person feels about us in return. In some of those cases, the truth can be painful, especially if that love isn't returned. That verse says it all. Very well written indeed.
Fabulous, I really like this poem and voted up.
I second Poetic Foll. Great rhythm and flow!
Your not alone on your journey. He to is out there looking for his lady, where and when she comes from he does not know. Beautiful poem, loved each word and it flowed wonderfully.
Wow. That is really lovely and poignant!
You're welcome, Bella Nina!
Well done - love it.

I really like this one. The rhythm, rhyme and flow are great. Of course, the journey you write of, the search for love fraught with uncertainty comes through so well. Nice job!
